I have had a few people ask why I am doing all this work building the Living on Roots blog so I thought I would share some of those reasons.  Hint, it definitely isn’t for the money.

1) I have learned a lot about food and nutrition over the last 2 years and it seems wrong to keep that all to myself.

From watching documentaries, researching ingredients, reading health books backed by nutritional scientific fact, to working on my holistic nutrition course, there is simply so much that needs to be shared.

2) I think people need to eat more plants and this is an outlet for me to inspire people to do just that.

My path to a plant-based lifestyle really did not start until I was 35 and I realized the effect food was having on by body. Friends and family around me were falling ill to disease and I realized I needed to change how I eat in order to give my family and I the best chance to live a healthy and fulfilling life. During that bit of self-reflection I also realized there are many people who need that same change as well.

3) I love sharing my recipes and helping people realize that healthy food tastes good.

Making food for family and friends is fun. Sharing recipes that taste amazing, nourish your body, and help you feel great all at the same time…priceless.

4) It keeps my brain working and me focused.

Blogging is a great tool for my mind and challenges me to keep learning about nutrition and how to give the cells in our bodies the absolute best earth can provide.  Since starting Living on Roots I am constantly reading and learning new things each day.  The larger the LoR community gets, the more and more info and recipes I want to share.

5) I get to meet amazing people.

One thing I have come to value since I started Living on Roots are the incredible people I have met.  Whether they are new subscribers, followers, or clients who need somebody by their side to help them on a new path, I absolutely love crossing paths with people, hearing their stories then getting to become a part of it.
