Maybe. Maybe Not. Read on to find out.

Summer is out and fall is coming in. How did your summer treat you? This year has been a special one, hasn’t it?! Summertime can either be hectic and go go go or it can be light and easy. For my family this year, it was the latter… light and easy. No vacations, hardly anything going on, and really nowhere to go.

Are you reading to transition to another season?

No matter how your summer treated you, you might be feeling that gentle transition coming up. Fall. The season where you want to build and strengthen your immune system (although we have been wanting to be there all year it seems). The season where you are ready to shift your energy into energy-saving mode before the holidays hit. Does this require a change in our nutritional needs?

If you are feeling sluggish, tired, or craving more energy, your answer might be yes!

When the fall season starts to hit, the goal is to eat food that will help sharpen our focus (bye summertime ease), clear our mind (hello to fall fun), and like I said above, strengthen and build our immune system to tackle all that is coming our way.

As your body starts to adjust to lower temps, you are drawn to foods that do all of that and help warm you too. Nature is amazing right?! It gives us what we need if we pay attention.

I knew I need a nutritional change about this time last year after a hectic summer. SO while this year has been different, I wanted to share what helped me because it may help you with this change in season.

First things first, I took a look at what I was eating more of. I noticed an increase in gluten and sugar. Decreasing how much I ate of both of those items did wonder for me.

Second, I made sure that I was getting enough water and sleep.

Between eliminating my food intolerances and increasing water and sleep, I will find a huge improvement in any season.

Do you know what your body needs?

I didn’t at first until I completed a full food elimination diet. That is where I discovered I was really sensitive to dairy and needed to eliminate it completely. I also discovered my sensitivity to gluten through this.

Your nutritional patterns will change from year to year and even season to season which is why I offer Living Refreshed at the time of a seasonal change. When the seasons change, our body craves a bit of a change-up too.

Living Refreshed helps someone like you who is looking for guidance as they work towards healthier habits and want to gain an understanding of what their possible food intolerances might be. In turn, it helps establish sustainable healthy habits and ditches the confusion and overwhelm we often feel when changing our lifestyles.

Now, let’s get to those FALL nutritional needs your body might be craving right NOW.

  • Start with swapping out the cold drinks for either room temp or warmer ones. Benefits of drinking warmer drinks include relieving nasal congestion (think about those winter colds), aids in digestion (hello to the holiday dress you want to fit in), and improved circulation (relax your muscles and reduce pain).
  • Fall produce becomes available and we can serve it with all the beneficial herbs and spices that warms us like ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. These spices can help with weight loss by creating heat which revs up your metabolism and improves circulation.
  • Eat more garlic, turmeric, and onions which can help boost your immunity and protect against viruses.

What you do right now will impact the holiday season. This time of year we are all busy … but imagine if you took a few extra steps into taking some time to focus on YOU. How would you feel?

Winter Is Coming. Are You Ready?
