I am a big oatmeal fan. I could eat it every day – it is just something that is so simple to make, can easily be changed from day to day, and is heart healthy. What’s not to love?
Usually, I add fresh fruit on my oatmeal. However, one day my sister shared a picture of her cooking apples for oatmeal. Cooked fruit, in general, is not my thing at all. EXCEPT for cooked bananas, which gave me a thought… I once had them over ice cream in Jamaica and I was in heaven. With that delicious memory in my head, I started experimenting for a healthier version of caramelized bananas and I am really happy with the result.
A creamy bowl of oatmeal that is low in sugar, high in fiber and protein, and loaded with beneficial nutrients thanks to the oatmeal, nuts, and seeds is my favorite way to start the day.
