Here’s the deal: Focusing on weight is the wrong approach. Focusing on how you want to feel is going to be much better for your soul and mental outlook. Phew, glad that is out of the way! Are you interested in hearing more on this subject? If you said ‘yes, please!‘ then this post is for you.

Can you imagine? Letting go of that goal number you have in your mind and just enjoying yourself.

BUT here is the best-kept secret the diet industry doesn’t want you to know about: oftentimes these next five things I am going to talk about can actually lead to weight loss?!

5 ways to focus less on weight and more on your health:

  • Eating foods that help YOU feel good. What feels good to you may be different than what feels good to me or your friend. This is also why I am not a big believer in diets. There is not a one-size-fits-all option when it comes to food. I developed a program called Living Refreshed that helps determine food sensitivities and specific foods that work for you. It is part of a group coaching program that I offer 4 times a year or can be done any time when working with me one on one.
  • I cannot stress this one enough! Move your body in ways that you enjoy. Walking, hiking, dancing, gentle yoga, or running for example. Do what you love to do. For example, you will only see me running if there is a spider in my vicinity! I HATE running. If you love running though, good for you, do it!
  • Drinking more water. It will always be one of the most important things I suggest doing. Needing to drink more water, check out this free 5-day course I set up. In this course, I will share the best times to drink water that help you digest your food better, learn the signs of dehydration and the easiest way that you can drink more!
  • Reduce your stress levels. You can do this by consuming less online and focusing more on self-care activities. Some examples: Get outside and walk barefoot, read a good book, or watch a happy movie.  Have you noticed how good you feel on vacations? Usually (hopefully) the vacation time is spent doing the things you love, relaxing, laughing, and having fun. Imagine if you added just 10-20 minutes a day into your schedule to do more of the things you love to do. Imagine how you would feel.
  • Developing a good sleep pattern This will be very beneficial for your health. Do you get at least 7 hours of sleep at night?
