Hello friends!  Chances are you have all of these ingredients in your pantry right now to make this recipe.  Yay!  Let’s get started…

First of all, I am not Italian.  This spaghetti sauce does not compare to your friends grandmothers neighbor that is Italian and the family recipe has been passed down for ages.  I know I know.  BUT it is a quick and healthy option that everyone will still enjoy!

Second, you are probably wondering what is wrong with buying a jar of spaghetti sauce of the shelf and using that. NOTHING. Nada. Zero.  I still do sometimes.

BUT when I started to pay more attention to labels I realized how much sugar is usually in a jar of sauce (why do we need to put so much sugar in everything!!). That is why I started experimenting in the kitchen with my own spaghetti sauce.  I came up with this recipe  below.  I was excited when the kids would eat it (well, one child still refuses to eat spaghetti but my youngest loves this sauce).  You know what else I love- for the same cost of one jar of sauce, I can get three dinners out of this one batch.  Yes!

It is really easy to mix up using an immersion blender (I use this one which is fantastic), cook some pasta, add some veggies on the side and you have a quick meal.  Enjoy!
